The Village of Canastota constructed a park located in our downtown district next to the Post Office consisting of 3 imperial black polished granite dies dedicated to the Fire department, Police department and Greater Lenox Ambulance Service. Each is inscribed with the department’s prayer and emblem. A steel beam from the World Trade Center wreckage is displayed within the park. The park is enclosed with black fencing and surrounded with landscaping. Two fountains have been constructed on each side of the park within the stone block frame. The memorial has been dedicated to the members of our police, fire and ambulance departments who serve our community and to those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
