Canastota Recreation Commission seeks board member

CANASTOTA, NY – The Village of Canastota is looking for a village resident to serve as a member of the Recreation Commission.

The Recreation Commission is appointed by the trustees of the Village of Canastota and Town of Lenox to conceive, plan, and implement recreation programs for village and town residents of all ages. The Commission is a seven-member volunteer board which meets on the fourth Monday of every month in the municipal building at 205 S. Peterboro Street.

Annual events and programs sponsored by the Recreation Commission include:

– Dye Dash
– Craft fairs
– Youth basketball and volleyball
– Adult softball
– Canal festival
– Trunk or Treat
– Book Walks
– Summer concert series
– Senior bowling
