Madison County receives SBA Disaster Declaration following June 22 storm
NEWS RELEASE FROM MADISON COUNTY
Wampsville, NY – Madison County has received an official SBA Disaster Declaration as a result of the damage from the storm and floods on June 22, 2025.
This declaration makes SBA disaster loans available to homeowners, renters, and businesses of all sizes who are recovering from physical and economic damage. Those who sustained damage can apply for assistance by going to the online portal: MySBA Loan Portal. Also, a Disaster Loan Outreach Center has been set up for Madison County at the Village of Canastota offices for people who may have any questions or need assistance.

– Permanently Closes: Friday September 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM
The storm during the early hours of June 22 left thousands across Madison County without power, many for several days. In addition, the large amount of rain that fell caused flooding in areas all over the County. Many of the hardest hit areas included the City of Oneida, Village of Canastota, Town of Lincoln, Town of Eaton, Town of Madison, and the Town of Nelson. Thankfully no major injuries were reported due to the storm. Over 900 calls came into the Madison County 911 Center on Sunday.
As a community many are still cleaning up and recovering from the storm. Madison County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has activated the Madison County COAD to help assist residents. Madison County has partnered with 211 Mid-York to help assist our residents.
