2023 Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony

This event has ended

CANASTOTA, NY – The Village of Canastota, in conjunction with American Legion Post #140, is pleased to announce the annual Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony.

This year’s parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 29. The parade steps off at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and N. Peterboro Street (State Route 13) and proceeds south on Peterboro Street through the village, ending at Clark Park, near the intersection with State Route 5.

A public ceremony honoring members of the community who gave their lives in service to our county will take place immediately following the conclusion of the parade.

Peterboro Street between Maple Avenue and Route 5 will be closed to all vehicles on the morning of the parade. Traffic will be detoured to Main Street for the duration of the parade and ceremony, which traditionally ends at approximately 12:00 p.m. Officers from the Canastota Police Department and Fire Department will monitor intersections to ensure safety.
