Request for Proposals
The Village of Canastota is seeking written proposals for the trimming or removal of trees and stumps from various rights-of-way within the Village.
The contractor shall manage or remove trees and grind stumps as dictated in the list below. All tree removals will include removal of stumps. All stumps will be ground to 8-10” below grade. All protuberant surfaces and subsurface roots beyond the stump area, noticeable by visual inspection, shall be removed to a depth of 8-10” below grade.
Any sidewalk that has been damaged by a root system will be removed by the Canastota Department of Public Works prior to grinding to allow the contractor access to the roots to be ground properly.
All debris from tree and stump removal operations shall be cleaned up and removed by the contractor each day before the work crew leaves the site, unless alternate permission is granted by the Village.
The contractor shall keep roads open, clear, and safe for travel while work is being performed and shall provide appropriate traffic control as to facilitate safe travel during work being performed, or any acceptable alternative as approved by the Village prior to start of work.
The Village will accept proposals until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30. Proposals may be submitted in person, via postal mail, or via email to village@canastota.com. Interested contractors may request a proposal packet from the Village office at 205 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, NY 13032, via email, or by downloading the documents below. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all quotes for any reason.
All work included in the project will be covered by New York State Department of Labor prevailing rate. The rate schedule is available on the NYSDOL website and must be utilized for this work.
