Peterboro Street paving project gets underway
CANASTOTA, NY – The New York State Department of Transportation has begun a long-anticipated project to repave a large portion of N. Peterboro Street (State Route 13) in the Village of Canastota.
The DOT says crews will be on site working on addressing drainage, curb, and sidewalk issues beginning Monday, September 23. That portion of the project will take a few weeks. Then, the street will be milled and repaved at around the three-week mark.
When finished, N. Peterboro Street from the Thruway to Canal Street will be completely milled and repaved, according to the DOT.
The entire project is expected to take about a month to complete, weather permitting. Variable Message Signs (VMS) have been posted at both ends of the project zone and will be updated with traffic information.
This project is funded and carried out by the NYSDOT.
